Why Steve Jobs would love Zuper

You‘ve got to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology - Steve Jobs

While recent current events might lead us to believe the world is going to hell in a hand-basket, the good news is that thanks to advances in technology, most of us have never had as much control over our lives as we do now.

Our Fitbits tell us if we’ve met our 10,000 steps a day goal (yep, you don’t have to count them). Slack keeps you in the loop with your work colleagues, without feeling inundated with emails, and Facebook Messenger keeps you in the social-know, your very own virtual events manager in the palm of your hand.

All of these apps illustrate the brilliant thing about technology - its power to automate the mundane. Its power to liberate us from the shackles of admin in order to enjoy the multitude of positive experiences life has to offer. For me, that is what great innovation is about – not the zeros and ones under the hood – but how beautiful code can deliver even more beautiful life experiences than the ones we have already.

Enjoyment = Action. A beautiful equation.

Most of us don’t enjoy our super at all. If we did, we’d know where it was, how much we had, and if we were on track to have enough for retirement. Most people draw a blank on all of those questions. From apathetic to anxious, super can generate emotions that don’t put us in a happy place at all.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re all glad we have super, but it’s not something that generates us any particular pleasure. And that’s because technology hasn’t really transformed the superannuation experience in the same way it has our health and social lives.

That’s the challenge we all have front of mind at Zuper. We don’t want you to wake up one day, aged 55, and finally start to care about your super. We want to get you enjoying super now, so you’re set for the long term.

The secret of getting started is getting started. So that’s what we’re doing.

We’ve got a few ideas about how we’ll do this, but the doors are certainly open if you’d like to shoot a few our way. After all, Zuper is a movement and we want you to be a part of it.

Experience enhancement number one is to help you feel good about where your money is going and make an impact. So we’ll let you invest your super in things you care about, ensuring your money is helping build a long-term future you want to live in. Secondly we’ll inject some visual and creative love into how you check and top up your super. You’ll want to come back every day just to enjoy some of our freshly squeezed creative juice. Thirdly we’ll work with your brain, not against it, to find ways to tap into the innate power your gray matter has to help you better provide for your future self. Our behavioural guru will be with you every step of the way, along with our chat bot Zena, ready to answer all those money and super questions you have.

Super can be super-er. Well, if you join Zuper that is. Join our waitlist and help us spread the word!
